We never get a second chance to make a first impression, so it is my goal to create handmade jewelry that not only makes a stunning first impression, but also a lasting one, because of the artisanship, diligence and unique styling given to each piece of jewelry.
Who is the person behind the H. Eugene Winston Jewelry Collection?
Harold E. Winston is a Jewelry Designer, Retired Educator and Craftsman. As a native Iowan his first exposure to fashion came to him as he worked his way through Drake University working for the late William J. Reichardt in his traditional and upscale clothing store. This opportunity set the stage for him to develop his eye for accessorizing and coordinating colors.
Harold graduated from Drake University with a B.S. in English and a Secondary Teaching Credential. He spent time working for two Fortune 500 Companies where he learned how to market and sell to an upscale clientele. After that Harold joined the Houston Independent School District spending over thirty years as a Classroom Teacher, Language Arts Content Specialist and Advanced Academic coordinator. Along the way Harold also earned a M. Ed in Gifted and Talented Education from the University of Houston.
To date, these experiences have shaped and molded Harold to become a champion for education, a sage businessperson, a precisian craftsman, and an exquisite jewelry designer.
How did he become a Designer of hand crafted and high-quality Jewelry?
Harold designed his first bracelet in 2007. Granted, these first bracelets were basic in design, yet when he wore them, they created interest and attention.
At that moment, the idea was born, and he knew that one day he would design and create fashionable bracelets plus other adornments. Fast forward 10 years and now Harold has designed and created not only bracelets, but stylish necklaces and “must have” earrings.
Where does he draw his inspiration?
As a former Gifted and Talented Language Arts and Reading Educator Harold has drawn a comparison between teaching and designing.
For instance, to teach it is essential to consider your audience, the purpose of the lesson and finally the mode or method for instruction.
Educators use “Research Based Best Practices” to convey the purpose and methods for instruction.
On the other hand, as a Craftsman Harold has developed similar best practices in the building and construction of his collection.
His passion, forward thinking and creativity have allowed him to capture an expression through the design of a piece of jewelry and as a result his jewelry designs make an impression accenting individual style and personal fashion statements.

His design platform consists of classic and minimalist styling accented with bold colors and unique designs. Each of his designs are hand crafted using quality materials and “state of the art” tools to ensure quality and durability.
Designing a piece of jewelry has required Harold to consider his audience by creating high quality, stylish and versatile pieces of Jewelry with a minimalist theme, which is simple, stylish, and sophisticated.
Just as words paint pictures in the creation of an essay, so has the creation of his Collection. The minimalist design mode that Harold has developed blends colors, shapes and textures with unique Gemstones, Swarovski Crystals, Exotic Reptile skins and Italian Leather Bracelets.
